Intel

A cold front is moving into New England waters over the weekend which should shake up the mid august doldrums.  Reports may be light over the next few days as winds are supposed to gust  to > +25 limiting smaller crafts.

Bait Intel

Its getting difficult to find macs at the east end and off sandwich but they are there you just need to work for them.  Anything north on the west side of the pay is mainly pogies as there is no signs of them going anywhere.

Inshore Intel

In the bay the east and and sandwich are still fishing well and holding pockets of large fish.  This norteast wind should pin bass and bait in the area for the next few days.    Scorton ledge, the fingers, billingsgate are all holding good numbers of sub commercial keeper sized fish but providing plenty of action. Tube and worms and trolling bucktails are working in those areas as usual.

Im not going to touch on the canal because unless you have been living under a rock you know has continued to be lights out for most of the summer contining into this week with large fish being caught consitently during the right tides. Sebille swimmers and hogy paddle tails and live bait are doing the trick.

Bonito and albies are into buzzards bay pretty good now but not hot and heavy yet.

Offshore Intel

The school bluefin have yet to show up as only a handful of sub giant fish have been caught over at crab ledge and the bc buoy over the past week.  Giant fishing is still solid at stellwagen as the sharps are producing sellable fish consistently on the south west corner.

South of the vineyard the scene has yet to materialize into anything deemed hot.  There are some white marlin and mahi around, but most boats are giving in to share fishing to avoid being skunked.

The canyons have slowed over the past week with a few reported strike outs or only a handful of yellowfine at either atlantis or veatch.
