Weather Forecast

 Fri May 11 2018 .Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters... High pressure moves back over the region this afternoon. A low approaches the waters from the south on Sat, bringing rain showers throughout the day Saturday. The low pressure system will move offshore Sunday as a high builds in from the north, returning drier and seasonable weather for next week.

SE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. A chance of showers. seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.

 

Bait Intel

The Mackeral are thick in cape cod bay now.  The inshore ledges are loaded with a mix of herring and mackeral.

Inshore Intel

School bass have made it north to Boston Harbor.  Buzzards bay bite is now steady with fish caught up to 30lbs.  The canal and south shore are still very spotty.  Although behind last years rush or nice size fish during this week, with the mackeral thick the keeper bass will arrive in the next few days.  A few have been caught in BBay and Vineyard sound.

The squid fishing is light out right now down the cape.  Buzzards bay is still producing however Nantucket soundsd is the top bite right now. This fishery will probably be gone in the next few days so make sure to get in on it over the weekend.

Tog reports are still slow in buzzards bay.

 

Offshore Intel

The Haddock fishing continues to be steady even with the east winds and thick fog this week.  The boats that got out are still getting it done on teh NW corner out to Tillies.
