Haddock Season Open - Friday, April 26, 2019

The Haddock season officially kicked off on April 15th.  The weather has not been favorable since the open but a few boats have been out on the bank looking for the biomass.

The biggest intel is that the fish are not up in the shoal waters typical of April.  Decent amount of fish were found out east around the Barge in 200-250 feet of water.  The warmer then usual water temps have things out of whack to start the season.  With more boats getting out in the coming days we should have more intel to help dial into the mass.

Checkout the Northeast Multispecies Information Sheet Charter/Party and Recreational Fishing for specifics on regulation.

The other big news is that there are plenty of Schoolies around down south with a good amount of fish with sea lice.  Most of the action is down the cape indcluding buzzards bay, falmouth and vineyard sound.  Those fish will be up into cape cod bay by the weekend.   Fully expecting bass season to be in full swing by next weekend.
