Big striped bass are the story right now throughout massachusets.  As recent as today Saturday 6/22 large 30lb class fish were setup outside the gurnet in Plymouth MA gorging on squid.  The hot activity on the bay side continues to be Billingsgate shoal which is giving up both volume and size with fish up to 40lbs the past 3 days.  The squid bite is pretty consistent on the bay side and that means boats have been crushing fish on top water especially on Doc's.  What gets better then late June topwater action in these parts on big bass?

Mass Bay

Haddock - Most boats have switched gears to the large striped bass in teh area but a few boats making their living groundfishing have reported strong bite still out east on stellwagen east of middle bank.  The fish have been camped there for the past two months and dont seem to be marching east that quickly.  This fishing has potential to remain strong through the summer.

Striped Bass pick your posion as there is action everywhere right now.

          1. Barnstable east to Billingsgate has been the most consistent bite the past few days with fish up to 40 inches frequently in the mix and many surface fees in the area.

          2. Got into some pigs just off the Gurnet in Plymouth today.  The fish have been in the area since Thursday and the northeast winds/ seas should pin the fish close the next few days.

          3. Been a quite bit materializing around the backside off Peaked hill with a mix of 40" sized fish in the mix.

Flounder - Flounder bite is good not spectacular best when the the conditions are sunny..

Mackerel are starting to thin out already need to be out on the ledges early to pick up bait.  Plymouth, Brantrock and Scituate are a good place to start.
