Mon May 7 2018 .Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters... High pres builds to the north this afternoon, then settles over the waters Tue through Thu. A cold front will cross the waters Thursday night.

Tonight - S winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming NE after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Patchy fog after midnight with vsby 1 to 3 nm.

Wed - E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft.

Wed Night - S winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft.

Thu - S winds 5 to 10 kt, increasing to 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft.

Thu Night - S winds 10 to 15 kt, diminishing to 5 to 10 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Patchy fog. Vsby 1 to 3 nm.

Fri - S winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas around 2 ft.

Fri Night - S winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Patchy fog. A chance of showers. Vsby 1 to 3 nm.

Sat - E winds 5 to 10 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. A chance of showers. Vsby 1 to 3 nm.

NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. A chance of showers.

Sun

NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 4 to 7 ft. A chance of showers.

NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.

 

Bait Intel

Mackeral are everywhere with stripers not far behind.

 

Inshore Intel

Striper in the west end of the Canal is hot. The east end is giving up fish also but keepers are on the west side close to the Maritime.  

Black sea bass fishing in buzzards bay is hot around clevlend ledge.

South shore harbors have started to fish well for flounder highlighted in Scituate but also green harbor and plymouth.

Offshore Intel

There is an unsubtantiated report of a 70lb Halibut caught this week on the SW corner of stellwagen.

Multiple reports from chartner captinas of first signs of tuna this week on the bank.  

Haddock bite is still strong in the shallow portions of bank both the NW Corner and the old BE buoy.
