As the weather continues to improve more boats are getting out and we are getting more intel. With the weather looking decent for the next few days into the weekend fully expecting this week for the fishing to open up for the first time this year.

The hot new lure buzz is with Patrick Sébile designed Hyperplastic Dartspin.  Taking a spinning blade design from our freshwater counterparts this new lure is doing damage on the small schoolies currently in the area.  You can pick some at tackledirect through the links below.

Hyperplastic Dartspin

Mass Bay

Haddock - Biggest surprise this week is intel that a strong inshore hadddock bite is taking place right now.

          1. Boats did well this past weekend bypassing the 30 mile run to stellwagen and are picking up fish inside cape cod bay.

          2. The offshore ledge outside Plymouth, and stone ledge outside Scituate producing.  No issues pickng up limits in shallow water.

          3. Out on Stellwagen the fishing is still strong east of middlebank and up North to Tillies.  Fish are just not in the shoal water.

School bass in th 12- to 24-inch range have made there way throughot the bay to the North Shoreschool These fish are in most of the rivers and harbors.

          1. North and South Rivers are loaded, Duxbury bay,  Scituate, and Green Harbor are attracting the biggest volumes and are your best bet over the weeks.

          2. Plenty of unconfirmed reports on social media of the first 30" fish being caught so the larger fish will be here before you know it.

Flounder - slow pick inside the harbors is improving as the water temps rise.

          1. Scituate has been slow you can scratch up a few

          2. Peddocks and hospital are picking up and gave up some 19" fish this past weekend.

          3. Water temps are right but the fishing is not hot and heavy yet

          4. Brewster flats is giving up flounder up to 18"

Mackerel are still thin but can be found as far north as Graves light.

          1. Typical south shore ledges are giving them up off the Gurnet, Farnham and scituate.

Bass - Small schoolies all over the area

          1. Pogys have been seen in the west end

Tataug - bite is improving , buzzard bay rockpiles, clevland ledge producing the most.  Woods hole is also producing consistently.
