Striped Bass up to 40 inches have made there way as far North as Boston Harbor and North Shore of Massachusetts, Haddock are starting to head east, and there is bait every.  Check out our weekly intel for the week of May 27th.  The strong east/northeast blow this past saturday had the seas kicked up and alot of boat held to the dock until later this memorial day weekend.  Those who got out reported steady action not particulatry hot for this time of year as the waters on the bay side were turned up and not the clearest of conditions.  Bass fishing continues to pickup with the arrival of large horse mackeral not coincedentally the first reports of 40" fish were common this week around the bay state.

Jointed and non jointed swimmers still producing the best for small stripers.

Mass Bay

Haddock - Shoal water on NW corner and middle bank continue to be on the slow side.  There is plenty of action but you have to cull through shorts to hit limit.  With the water temps peaking at 55 degrees after Sundays high temps the bite continues to be better in the deeper water east of middlebank.

          1. Northwest corner and middlebank slow not spectacular lot of shorts

          2. Shoalwater east of the SWC showing no signs of fishing well this year

          3. The inshore haddock bite off Plymouth/Duxbury has slow significantly past few days as those fish move east.  Not in the mud east of the offledge like they were two weeks back.

Striped Bass action is hot across teh state.

          1. There continues to be 24-28 inch fish everywhere.  Small swimmers, SP minnow, Dartspin are working real well.

          2. The south shore, North River, and Boston harbor have all given up fish up to 41" the past few days.  Fish are keyed in on live macks already and there are alot of tinker small mackerel in the area.

          3. Schoolie bite at Race Point has been descriped as epic with steady action on most anything you can throw.

schoolie striped bass cape cod

Flounder - Flounder bite is ok no spectacular across the region

          1. Deer Island flats are the exception and is lights out fishing past few days

          2. Scituate and green harbor is slow hasnt heated up yet

          3.  Brewster flats continue to be a bright spot but are moving out into the deeper water.

Mackerel Big horse mackeral are in the bay right now on the inshore ledges.

          1. Typical south shore ledges are giving them up off the Gurnet, Farnham and scituate.

          2. Thick outside graves light

Buzzards Bay/Canal

Bass - Large volume of bass in the area.   Birds are covering most schools and fish up to 30" are not being caught fairly constantly.

          1. Canal action picked up this week with fish up to 40" most in the mid 20" range

          2. Elizabeth islands gave up multiple 40" fish last week for boats working big baits

          3. Middle ground had a fantastic bite the past weekend small plastics and jointed swimmers doing the trick.

Tataug - Fishing slowing slightly there are still nice fish around but not as many as a few weeks ago

          1. Clevland ledge is still the best bet
